Pels Sign Guard Ian Clark, Is This The Move That Salvages Their Summer?

Ian Clark has agreed to a one year deal with the New Orleans Pelicans for $1.6 million. In a move to improve their anemic three point shooting the Pels snatch Clark who shot 37% from beyond the arc and was an important fixture off the bench on both of the recent title winning Warrior teams.

Clark’s versatility will be prized here as he can play both guard spots leading itself to the prospect of an intriguing reserve backcourt tandem of Clark with E’Twaun Moore. The only concern here is that the duo would be pretty repetitive. If you look at their numbers from last season the pair were nearly identical. Hell only one inch separates them.

Their function on the court is also eerily similar. Only thing truly setting them apart is the price tag as Moore is making a little over $8 million this year. But for a team starving for shooting specifically from their reserves this is a good deal at a great price.
